Volunteer Headquarters of the Obukhiv District Territorial Defense

Following the Law of Ukraine On the Fundamentals of National Resistance No. 170-IX dated 16 July 2021, the Law of Ukraine On the Legal Regime of Martial Law No. 3890-VII dated 12 May 2015, and Decree of the President of Ukraine On Introduction of Martial Law in Ukraine No. 64\2022 dated 24 February 2022, the Volunteer Headquarters of the Obukhiv District Territorial Defense was established on 25 February 2022 as a manifestation of civic engagement to address the russian federation’s aggression against our state.

In accordance with Order of the Head of the Kyiv Region Obukhiv District Military Administration No 26 dated 4 March 2022 On the Establishment of Headquarters of Humanitarian Assistance to Residents and Internally Displaced Persons in the Kyiv Region Obukhiv District, headquarters of humanitarian assistance to residents and internally displaced persons were established, and the Volunteer Headquarters of the Obukhiv District Territorial Defense was registered with the Kyiv Region Obukhiv District Military Administration at 7 Yunosti street, Ukrainka town, Obukhiv district, Kyiv region.


From the first day of its work, the Volunteer Headquarters of the Obukhiv District Territorial Defense provides comprehensive assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, territorial defense forces, internally displaced persons, residents of Ukrainka, including through the assistance to the Center for Ukrainka Community Social Services and the Office for Ukrainka Community Children and Families, families with children in need of special care, newborns and new mothers, residents of villages of the Ukrainka community who found themselves in difficult life circumstances and residents of de-occupied territories of Ukraine. Volunteers of the Headquarters personally make cramp irons for dugouts, potbelly stoves, mine signs, fill gas cylinders for the military, weave camouflage nets and carry out humanitarian missions to frontline areas and newly de-occupied territories. The main coordinator of the Volunteer Headquarters is Alevtyna Shmahel, who is officially registered as a volunteer with the tax authorities and has the right to collect money to a designated bank account. Alevtyna Shmahel is a Ukrainka Town Council Member and an official representative of local self-government in Ukraine.
